Spring, 2009 update: The Hebridean Spirit has been sold, leaving Hebridean Island Cruises with just one ship: the Hebridean Legend.

Hebridean Spirit

The Hebridean Spirit was built in 1991; the ship sailed as the Renaissance VI and Megastar Capricorn before it was aquired by Hebridean Island Cruises and given a £3 million refit in 2001.

The Hebridean Spirit offers 29 cruises in spring through fall of 2004, beginning with a cruise in the Adriatic and wrapping up with a "Byzantine Voyage" of Greece, mainland Italy, and Sicily on October 27. During the summer season, the ship will work its way north from the Mediterranean to Norway, head east through the Baltic to St. Petersburg, and meander along the coasts of England, France, and Spain to the Adriatic and Aegean. November will mark the start of a winter season with cruises in Southern Italy and Greece before the ship heads through the Suez Canal to the Indian Ocean.

Accommodations on the luxurious 80-passenger vessel range from two-bedroom suites on the promenade deck to well-equipped cabins with portholes. Many cabins have sofa beds that can be converted to a bed for a third person.

2004 fares run from £1,390 per person for a 3-night "Breton Interlude" or "Norman Conquest" cruise in a Grade E cabin to £9,760 for a 7-night "Voyage of the Midnight Sun" cruise in the St. Columba or St. Oban Suite. Fares include flights from the UK (for British guests), cabin, meals on board and ashore, wine, most drinks, shore excursions, use of certain spa facilities, and tips.
